How many times has this happened to you…

You are online searching for a specific product for your dental office or lab. After muddling through several sites without success, you finally stumble on one that has exactly what you are looking for. You click on the link, only to find that the site looks like one of the original websites from back in the early days of the internet (yes, back in the days when our computers told us “You’ve got mail”). It has a weird background pattern and the blog posts end in 2011. There are a few pictures of products with descriptions, but no way to order the item. You leave the site and resume your search elsewhere.

Whenever someone lands on your site, whether you are in the dental industry or selling high-end cars, your potential client gets an immediate impression of your brand. Does it have a modern look? Is it easy to navigate? Can he/she price and purchase items? For better or for worse, all of these features reflect on your company.

People want easy access to information

An overwhelming majority of consumers search the internet before making a big purchase. Users want to be able to quickly compare prices and services to other websites. If your site takes a long time to load or does not allow users to easily locate the information they are looking for, they may move on to your competitor’s sites.

The information must be up-to-date

If your site has outdated information or a very “old” style layout, users may not trust your site. Check out your competitors. If your competitors have sleek, modern sites and yours appears retro, it may be time for an update. You want to convey to your potential clients that you are keeping up with the times.

An updated website shows you care

Have you ever heard people say that you shouldn’t do business with a company that has a lobby full of dead plants? Yes, it’s true – you shouldn’t do business with them. If they don’t take the time to take care of their plants, why should we think that they would take care of their customers?

Everyone, from entrepreneurs to large Fortune 500 companies, needs to put time and effort into their sites. It’s tempting to put your site up and think you’re done with it forever, but don’t fall into that trap. Make sure to update it and improve it along the way (don’t forget to optimize your site as well). Not only will your website be found in more searches, but they will trust your brand more.

TLC for your brand

You’ve worked hard to establish a reputation – you take care of your clients, maintain a professional atmosphere, and train your staff well. Make sure that your website reflects that. Stay true to your brand and put the time in to keep your site up-to-date.

As refiners of dental scrap metal, we appreciate the importance of providing information on our pricing and procedures. That’s why we are one of the few dental refiners who list our pricing information on our website. We want our clients to know what to expect from us when they send in their crowns and bridges for refining.
