QUESTION ANSWER
Can I send in jewelry? Yes, you can. We do ask that you first go through your jewelry with a magnet to see if it is made of precious metals. Jewelry that is attracted to the magnet is typically made of non-precious metal or is plated which has no refined value. Although we specialize in dental scrap refining, we also accept jewelry made from precious metals.
Can I send in dental scrap where the teeth are still attached to the dental work? What about other objects mixed in such as dust or carpet threads? Yes. At Cora Refining we use multiple methods of assaying and refining dental scrap. A common first step in our dental refining process is melting the scrap into a homogenous button. The surface is then cleaned and the button is assayed using x-ray fluorescence spectrometry. Within those processes any non-metal material is melted away during the process, leaving only dental metal behind.
How much money will I get for sending my dental scrap to your refinery? We pay you top prices for your dental scrap, and update the market prices daily, which you can see on our Facebook page. We provide your dental lab or dental office with the monetary value of all of the precious metals within your dental scrap. That means that unlike some refining companies who only pay you for the gold in your dental scrap, we pay you for all traces of gold, white gold, platinum, silver, and palladium.

In addition to paying you top prices for all of these precious metals, the reason our customers get the most money back for their dental scrap is because our refinery is focused on accuracy. By concentrating on quality and excellence in our assaying, we rely on time honored processes such as fire assay and gravimetric precipitation, in addition to the new technology, x-ray fluorescence spectrometry.
How much of my dental scrap can I send in at once to be refined? Is there a minimum or a maximum? You can send us any and all of your dental scrap that can fit into our supplied containers. Of course you don’t have to fill any container up fully and you can send in multiple containers at a time through Fed Ex delivery. Check out our shipping containers and you can request a Fed Ex delivery as early as today!
How can I make more money when I send in my dental scrap? There are a few ways we suggest for making even more money refining your dental office’s dental scraps. Some suggestions to optimize your profit from refining dental scrap are:

  • Create a routine for collecting dental scraps.
  • Keep track of where and when you collected the dental scrap.
  • Put one person in charge of collecting dental scraps and organizing the data.
